A percussion drill is very similar to a rotary hammer drill. The main difference between the two is that the hammering action cannot be used without the rotational function on a percussion drill. This is because the hammering action is initiated by the rotation of the chuck. Percussion drills are suited to general DIY, although they are somewhat slower than rotary drills. They are also suitable for use on semi-hard materials, such as limestone or light concrete. While some high end models can be used on hard materials, such as concrete and masonry, this causes very loud noise and strong vibrations: General Purpose/Percussion Drill 110v/240v Power input: 750W Maximum hole diameters: – Masonry/concrete: 20mm – Steel: 13mm – Wood: 40mm Weight: 3kg
